In India ,statistics show that we Indians are suffering from two medical conditions which long for many years in an average man's life span from the time it attacks us&such conditions are called CHRONIC medical conditions, they are DIABETES{sugar disease}and HYPERTENSION{high B.P.}.
Here concerning issue is that it doesn't show very early in one's life but shows up at the age of 'say' about 40 years but with advent of western food culture, diseases too are advancing before we reach the age of 35 years now-a -days.point to be noted here is that it stays as our friend life long and makes us in such a way that we cannot eat food items with high amount of spices, salt, sugar and fat.Imagine your diet without these basic ingredients. That is the pain it gives....that too life long.
so today I want tell you about the basic info as how these medical conditions are known to doctors from your reports. Here it is your duty to take care of your own body,so you too should know how a doctor confirms that you are suffering from DIABETES or HYPERTENSION.
let's see them one by one along with pictorial representation for making yourself clear about everything.
HYPERTENSION:
we do say it in lay man terms as HIGH B.P.
it is measured by an instrument called spygmomanometer.
after taking your blood pressure{b.p.},a reading will be noted by the respective medical practitioner
u observe a fractional figure, for example 120/80 mm of HG. but there is a range in which we doctors do say its normal and that range is :
NORMAL : 90-120/60-80 mm of HG
I think now u can get a clear idea by looking at the above picture.
after measuring your b.p. if it is between the range mentioned above then its absolutely normal, and of course a slight addition of 10+ or a difference of 10- is ok, so no need to worry about that.
but if a b.p. measurement lies in range of >140 on upper part of fraction or >100 in lower part(either of reading abnormal is enough) tells you that u are at risk of HYPERTENSION.
Before coming to a conclusion b.p. has to be recorded at 3 different time intervals to say that u are suffering from high b.p.
{for example if your b.p.is recorded on 28-3-2013 for first time and reading is abnormal then again it should be recorded on 01-04-2013 and again on 05-04-2013 to confirm that you are having HYPERTENSION(high b.p.)}.see that you are checked on 3 different occasions because sometimes due to physical activity involved in going to hospital /fear then our b.p.tend to rise under normal circumstances.
1. this is normal measurement
2. this is abnormal
I think now you know what causes high b.p. and how generally doctors measure this condition.
